Patty Helminiak was born in Roaring Springs, Blair County, on Sept. 30, 1941.
She moved to this area in her youth and attended high school in Montgomery. She was married to Edward Helminiak for 20 years and they lived in Williamsport.
Patty worked at Town Tavern for 25 years where her specialty was Italian food. She says she would still be working there if it had not closed.
When asked if she still loves to cook she replied no, because she is used to cooking large amounts of food. Patty loves animals and has a tiger cat named Rascal - she says his name fits him well.
Patty enrolled in Albright LIFE in October 2011. She says she likes all the people because they are all so friendly and make her feel welcome.
While at Albright LIFE's Adult Day Health Center, she enjoys playing cards, bingo, trivia games and doing the Brain Fitness program on the computer. Patty said that coming to Albright LIFE makes her feel good about herself and keeps her busy.
"Before I came to Albright LIFE, I stayed home and didn't do much," she said. "Albright LIFE helps me stay mentally and physically fit."
