Students of the month
Elliott James Packer
JERSEY SHORE - The Jersey Shore Lions' Club Citizen of the Month for April is Elliott James Packer, son of Mike and Tammy Packer of South Williamsport.
Packer's activities at Jersey Shore Area High School include track and field, football and wrestling.
Packer served as captain of the wrestling team in 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Outside school, he helps at Ecks' Orchards, Moore Brothers, and P&P Plumbing and Heating.
He has four varsity wrestling letters, as well as a letter in track and field. He is a three-time district wrestling champion, and the district runner-up as a sophomore. In his freshman and senior years, he was selected as a Heartland Conference Student Athlete.
Also in his senior year, he was selected for second Team All-Conference in football. Packer enjoys outdoor activities.
After graduation, he plans to attend East Carolina University to major in economics and finance.
Alicia Ann Englert
JERSEY SHORE - The Business and Professional Women's Club Girl of the Month for April is Alicia Ann Englert, daughter Kenneth and Korinda Englert of Jersey Shore.
A student at Jersey Shore Area High School, Englert has participated in Constitutional Convention, Drama Club, National Honor Society, National Business Honor Society, tennis, chorus, Model UN, Future Business Leaders of America, track and field, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and was a freshman mentor.
Englert served as FCCLA treasurer in 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Outside school, she holds a part-time position with McDonald's.
Englert has participated in School Counts throughout her high school career. She has earned regional honors in FBLA competition as well as a varsity letter in track and field.
As a freshman, she also was selected as a student of the month by the Jersey Shore Lioness club.
Her interests include hunting, camping, fossil collecting, running and reading.
After graduation, she plans to attend Keystone College to major in forensic biology and minor in criminal justice investigation.
Alexis Robinson
JERSEY SHORE - Alexis Robinson recently was selected as the May Outstanding Ninth Grade Student of the Month for Jersey Shore Area High School.
The award is sponsored by the Jersey Shore Area Lioness. She is the daughter of Leslie Robinson. She was recommended by school faculty because she displays the qualities of promptness, preparation, reliability, courtesy, consideration, academic achievement and service to her community.
Robinson and her family will be honored and recognized for his achievement at a Lioness Student Award dinner in May.
Jared Fisher
JERSEY SHORE - Jared Fisher, son of Laurie Fisher and the late David Fisher, was recently named Outstanding Senior Student for Jersey Shore Area High School.
Fisher was chosen for the honor because he consistently exhibits honorable grades and shows interest in promoting the community by participating in a service organization and-or volunteer program.
The award is sponsored by the Jersey Shore Area Lioness Club.
Zachary Raymond
JERSEY SHORE - Zachary Raymond recently was selected as the April Outstanding Ninth Grade Student of the Month for Jersey Shore Area High School.
The award is sponsored by the Jersey Shore Area Lioness. He is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Richard Raymond. He was recommended by school faculty because he displays the qualities of promptness, preparation, reliability, courtesy, consideration, academic achievement and service to his community.
Raymond and his family will be honored and recognized for his achievement at a Lioness Student Award dinner in May.
Coudersport woman
performs in recital
The 10th annual Open Door Recital, a unique experience for young children - with and without special needs - and their parents, was performed April 14 at Elizabethtown College.
Melissa Gerner, a senior, of Coudersport, performed in the recital.
