MANSFIELD - Michael D. Pannebaker, 45, of Mansfield, was killed late Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash on Route 549 in Rutland Township, state police said.
Pannebaker lost control of his northbound Chevrolet Cavalier, which struck an embankment and then went back on the road, striking a southbound Ford Taurus driven by Westley J. Brown, 46, also of Mansfield, in the southbound lane about 11:50 p.m., police said.
Pannebaker, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Tioga County Deputy Coroner Ronald Hagar.
Brown was taken by ambulance to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.
