Williamsport's Alexis Bower followed up her perfect game with a 7-0, 1-hit shutout Tuesday vs. Altoona at Elm Park. Bower struck out nine also added a double while her little sister Mikayla and Kaitlyn Caringi finished with three hits apiece.
It was a little too late for Montogmery's rally as it strained three base runners in the seventh, falling to Southern Columbia, 11-5. Mallory Tomaschick tossed a complete game, holding Montgomery to five hits while adding three herself.
Muncy defeated Benton, 5-0. Amanda Kustanbauter pitched a three-hit shutout while Hannah Cole doubled and drove in two runs in the win.
In high school tennis, Milton defeated Shikellamy, 5-0. Ryan Pace, Drew Pace and James Jones all had singles wins for Milton.
In boys track and field, Hughesville edged South Williamsport, 79-71, and Loyalsock, 82-68. Hughesville got both wins without collecting a single win in any of the three relays.
Warrior Run took down Bloomsburg, 89-59. Jacob Wiekel finished first in both the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles for the Defenders in the win.
Jersey Shore's Mac Thompson vaulted 14 feet and won his event with fewer misses, but the Bulldogs fell to Selinsgrove, 98-52.
In girls track and field, Hughesville defeated South Williamsport, 124-26, and Loyalsock, 109-40. Hughesville won all three relays in the tri-meet.
Warrior Run defeated Bloomsburg, 83-67. Steph Shamburg finished first in both the discus and javelin for the Defenders while Lauren Ball took first place in the long jump and triple jump for Bloomsburg.
Jersey Shore took first and second in the high jump and javelin, but the Bulldogs lost to Selinsgrove 121-29.
In high school lacrosse, Lewisburg defeated Selinsgrove, 13-7. Brian Knisley scored six goals and added two assists to lead the Green Dragons.
In college baseball, Penn College split a double header with Penn State Brandywine. The Wildcats won the first game, 6-0, but dropped the second, 10-5. Harrison Myers, Josh Longsderff and Zachary Buterbaugh combined for a one-hit shutout in the first game. The Wildcats finished their season at 23-10 overall and 14-4 in the PSUAC.
