Church to hold sale to benefit local charity

MUNCY - Muncy Baptist Church will hold a lawn sale from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, 11 W. Penn St.

The sale will benefit the Salvation Army and two local families with recent hardships.

Landlords group to meet Monday

The meetings of the Greater Williamsport Landlord Association are now being held quarterly in January, April, July and October.

The group's next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the Sechler Room of City Hall, second floor.

The entrance is in the rear through the police station.

The featured speaker will be Williamsport City Codes Officer Tom Evansky, who will address lead paint regulations as they relate to landlord-tenant law. Lead safety for renovation, repair and painting, as well as notifications, apply to landlords and contractors.

Author to visit Muncy library

MUNCY - Author and illustrator Zachariah O'Hora will visit the Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

O'Hora will be reading his book, "Stop Snoring, Bernard," and each child will receive their own book as part of the Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child 2012 program, which kicked off March 27 and provides each child in the state with a book as part of the initiative.

Registration is required and can be made by calling the library at 546-5014.

Strobel's announces upcoming classes

Strobel's Sewing Center, 201 Basin St., will have the following classes for the month of May:

Star Flowers Wall Quilt class will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 2, 5 and 16.

Dear Jane Quilters will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 7 and 21.

Women of Influence, block of the month will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 14 and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 28.

Clio luncheon to feature GQ

The spring luncheon of the Clio Club will take place at 12:30 p.m. May 2 at the Williamsport Country Club.

Lunch will be served and a business meeting will follow.

At 1:30 p.m., the a cappella male group GQ from Williamsport Area High School will sing American popular music from the 1940s to present.

The group will be lead by Kent Weaver, instructor of vocal music at WAHS.
