AAUW book sale begins Thursday

April 29, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

LOCK HAVEN - The annual American Association of University Women used book sale will begin its 43rd year on Thursday and continue through Saturday in the former Lock Haven High School gym along West Main Street.

Book sale hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday is "Bag Day" and booklovers can fill a large paper grocery bag for $5.

The large gym floor will be overflowing with more books than ever, said co-chairwomen Carole Hildebrande and Toni Tomasi. All categories for fiction and nonfiction will be represented.

The profits from the sale over the years have been responsible for many undergraduate and graduate scholarships to Clinton County women to aid in the continuance of their education.

Scholarship applications are available at the main desk of the Ross Library and the deadline for submission is June 1.

Graduates, men and women, of an institution of higher education are eligible for membership in the Lock Haven branch of AAUW.

Membership information will be available at the sale.
