Have you seen the latest from Nancy Pelosi and the hard left Democrats in Congress? They have introduced the "Peoples' Rights Amendment" that would eliminate the Bill of Rights as it applies to corporations. This amendment would strip all Constitutional protections from "corporations, limited liability companies or other corporate entities". This newspaper is a corporate entity. This amendment would strip First Amendment protection for this newspaper. Nearly all organizations in the country are incorporated and as such, would come under the complete control of government. As written, this amendment would allow for searches without warrants for any organization, and fines without due process. If you can imagine an outrage, this amendment allows it.
All this because the Supreme Court said corporations have a right to free speech. This is a concept that has been upheld since the founding of the country, but because some of that speech is political, and in support of the other side, they don't like it. These politicians only want to allow free speech that they approve. That's not free speech.
It is also interesting that now these politicians want to say that the Bill of Rights was intended to apply only to the individual. For years they've been saying that the Second Amendment does not apply to individuals. This is especially strange considering that the Second Amendment specifically says, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed", while the First Amendment addresses a general protection of freedom of religion, speech and press and only uses the word people in regard to the right to assemble. This amendment would eliminate that right for organizations such as unions.
This amendment would be more accurately named, "Backdoor to Fascism Amendment". This attack on freedom must be stopped.
