Lewisburg garnered the No. 1 seed for the District 4 team tennis tournament that begins Tuesday at Bloomsburg University. Eight teams qualified for the tournament with the Green Dragons being the only undefeated team (17-0). Galeton earned the second seed after going 14-1, and South Williamsport (14-4) is the third seed. The tournament starts Tuesday on Bloomsburg University's upper campus with two matches at 2:30 p.m. and two more at 4 p.m.
Despite winning the second game of a doubleheader with Lafayette, 10-4, Bucknell missed out on a chance to make the Patriot League playoffs when it lost the opener, 6-2, in college baseball. The Bison finished the season in a tie for fourth place in the Patriot League standings. Scott Reed drove in five runs for the Bison in the nightcap.
Lock Haven rallied in the seventh inning of the nightcap of its doubleheader with Indiana, but the Bald Eagles came up a run short and were swept in the twinbill, 6-4, and 4-3. Josh Jones drove in a pair of runs for the Bald Eagles in the first game, and Scott Zuback, amd Kevin Cressman had a pair of hits in the nightcap.
Bucknell's softball team lost out on a shot at a postseason berth with a 2-0 loss to Lafayette in the opening game of a doubleheader, but rebounded for a 1-0 win the in the nightcap to finish the season 11-34. Kasey Siegel knocked in the lone run of the day for the Bison. Bucknell freshman Erin Cox was 3-for-3 with two doubles in the second game.
Three players scored a single goal apiece for Bucknell as the Bison's women's water polo team fell to Harvard, 11-3. The Bison fell to 15-24 with the loss
The Bucknell women's rowing team captured its seventh consecutive Patriot League championship on Sunday, winning the varsity eight and varsity four races, and also taking second in the varsity eight.
Freshman?Nic McGee led Lycoming's golf team to a school-best sixth-place finish since joining the Commonwealth Conference, finishing 18th after a second round 82 at the Hershey Country Club East Course for the?MAC championships.
