Doug Zehner struck out eight in five innings and Dawson Fox and T.J. Moyle each had a pair of hits as Muncy beat Sullivan County, 8-2, in a game shortened by rain. Muncy scored in all five innings and Fox and Brad Taylor each doubles.
Hughesville fell to Shamokin, 3-1. The Spartans play Mount Carmel on Monday.
Today's Williamsport baseball game against DuBois has been moved to Brandon Park and will start at noon.
In high school softball, Central Columbia scored seven of its nine runs over the first two innings and defeated Hughesville, 9-0. Brianna Taylor finished with three hits and pitched a complete game.
Maggie Smith doubled and gave Wellsboro four innings of shutout ball as it defeated Liberty, 4-1, in NTL action. Smith and Kohler, who entered in the fifth, combined for nine strikeouts.
The Williamsport softball tournament was rained out last night. The tournament will begin later today with Williamsport vs. Conwell Egan, Montoursville vs. State College and Milton vs. St. Hubert's. All games are at 10 a.m. Loyalsock and Union-Endicott will open play at 11:30 a.m. The championship and final consolations are scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
