Man accused of attacking woman and police officer

A Philadelphia man is locked in the Lycoming County Prison on charges of punching a woman several times in the head and dislocating the right shoulder of city police officer who was attempting to arrest him, an investigator alleged in court papers.

The injured officer, Aaron LeVan, was treated at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center and later discharged, police said.

He was injured as he and Patrolwoman Kaycie Rich were attempting to take into custody Yusef Ali Wilson, 26,.

Wilson allegedly struck Ashley Devine several times in the head at 747 High St. about 3:15 a.m. Sunday, but there was no information was provided on whether the woman required any medical treatment.

Wilson was restrained only after each officer deployed their Taser guns, police said.

Arraigned before District Judge James G. Carn on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering, Wilson was jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.
