In good company

May 9, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A comment on Phil Hartranft's letter titled "A Salute":

Hospitalman Grant Reeder is indeed in good company, as there was a man in the Medical Detachment, 307th Infantry in World War II who saved approximately 70 men all by himself without the use of any weapons and received the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Harry Truman.

His name was Desmond T. Doss and you can read about him in a book by his wife, Frances Doss.
