Attempted abduction serves as disquieting reminder to parents

May 13, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Two people recently tried to abduct a 12-year-old South Williamsport boy. That followed a wave of such reports earlier this year.

Seems shocking, doesn't it, that a tragedy such as child abduction could happen in one of our communities?

But that's the reality of today, when brazen forms of crime are everywhere in small municipalities as well as big cities.

These reports should serve as a reminder to all parents in the region: Know where your children are at all times, be aware of moments of vulnerability they may face and school them on how to handle those moments.
