Dr. Cavanaugh's letter "Mission threatened " is food for thought as universities do have two main sources of revenue, one from the state and one from the students.
The governor was correct in reducing state funding 20 percent.
In fact, he should have eliminated it entirely as tax-payers can no longer afford to pay this welfare for students.
Some cities charge college students a user fee or tax to cover municipal services they consume.
After all, if they can afford to consume booze then they can afford to pay a fee or tax.
