A 5-Stand Clays Fun Shoot will be held at the skeet field from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19. It is open to the public. The cost is $5 per 25 targets. Participants must bring their own shotguns and ammo and must wear eye and ear protection. Membership not required. For more information, call Terry Knittle at 326-2524.

The Consolidated Sportsmen of Lycoming County has set its 2012 schedule for metallic silhouette rifle matches. Shooters do not need to be a member to compete. For more information, contact Al Foust at 435-0043 or alf2520@verizon.net.

The Lycoming Trap Shooters at CSLC has open shooting from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays and 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays. The cost is $4 for members and $5 for non-members.

The summer league began April 1. Shooters may shoot any Wednesday or Sunday to complete a 300-target competition, ending July 29 with a picnic honoring the top gun and top team. League shooters must be members of CSLC. For more information, call Mark Forsburg at 321-0783.

NRA Basic Handgun shooting courses will be held 6:30-9 p.m. Mondays. Each course will be a minimum of 10 hours. New classes begin every two weeks. For more information, call Raymond George 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 368-1107.

Summer Challenges - Every Tuesday evening, shooters will compete in a different challenge. Each event costs $12, and a fully automatic shoot is $30. At the end of every event, points will be awarded to each participant. The total points accumulated by Aug. 28 places shooters for prizes. The top five will receive trophies. Contact the range for specific challenges and times.

Ladies 5-week program: Must attend each date - Revised dates are 5 p.m. May 17, May 24, June 7, 14, 21. No class will be held on May 31.

Three-step Firearms Program: Over the course of three weeks, participants learn about firearms safety and handling; home safety and home intrusion; and identifying a threat or intruder. Each week includes time on the range. Fees apply. Participants must attend all three classes - 6-8 p.m. May 14, 21 and 31

Challenge of the Wolf - Shooters will challenge each other in this new competition that may be shot Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays upon request. Shoots must be monitored and supervised by Ken Baker, range officer. Distance is 20 yards with a .22-caliber LR handgun. Five shots are allowed in five minutes. Cost is $1.50 plus tax.

Winners will be determined by most hits; winners will challenge one another for one final winner at the end of term. Contact the range to sign up.

Beginners Firearms Safety Course: Participants will learn how to safely load a firearm, safely unload a firearm, safe clearing procedures and more. One-day classes will be held 5-8 p.m. May 17 or 23; 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 19 or 26.
