Police respond to home invasion

May 19, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

An allegedly intoxicated man who told a woman, "I'm coming in," during an invasion of her city residence has been committed to prison.

Michael Lee Carlisle, 52, of the city, allegedly broke into a house at 501 Anthony St. about 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, city police said.

The homeowner's grandson was startled by noise and when the owner went to check the door, it was being opened at the same time by Carlisle.

Police were immediately contacted and responded with multiple cars to the scene because it was a home invasion in progress. When police arrived, officers found Carlisle sitting inside a gated yard of the residence, according to the affidavit.

Arraigned before District Judge James G. Carn Friday on charges of criminal attempt - criminal trespass and breaking into a structure, defiant trespass and public drunkenness and similar misconduct - Carlisle was committed to the county prison in lieu of $8,500 bail.
