A city man was picked up Friday on charges of allegedly distributing crack cocaine in the city.
Michael Laquay Smith, 33, told District Judge James G. Carn he was living at 617 High St., but the affidavit by the Lycoming County Drug Task Force listed his home address as 626 Fifth Ave.
Smith was charged with allegedly delivering several grams of crack cocaine to confidential informants as police oversaw controlled buys using $100 at a time, according to the affidavit.
The drug buys occurred at Walnut and High streets April 20, the 1000 block of Park Avenue May 11 and the 600 block of Walnut Street on Friday, police said.
Arraigned before District Judge James G. Carn on six counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver crack cocaine and three counts of criminal use of a cellphone, Smith was committed to Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $150,000.
Smith's preliminary hearing has been scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. May 29.
