Penn State will resume its games with Michigan State and Iowa and continue to play Wisconsin in the season finale through 2016, as the Big Ten announced its 2015-16 football schedules on Monday.
The Nittany Lions and Spartans played every season finale from 1993-2010, with the winner capturing the Land Grant Trophy. Legends Division member Iowa also returns after rotating off in 2013-14.
The Big Ten's new divisional format required new schedule rotations in which one opponent falls off the schedule for four straight seasons.
The Big Ten-Pac-12 collaboration is scheduled to begin by 2017. The plan calls for each school to play an opponent from the other conference every year with some flexibility built into the process to respect existing post-2017 FBS non-conference match-ups.
