MANSFIELD - Paul L. Cady, 19, of 4212 Blockhouse Road, Liberty, was charged by state police after he allegedly ran over another teenager following an argument over a girl.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, the incident took place at Liberty High School May 18. Cady was charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempt/criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and three counts of simple assault after he ran allegedly ran over Michael Houseknecht, causing serious injuries. Cady had left and returned with a knife following the argument, threatening and chasing Houseknecht with it. He then got into his car and drove at Houseknecht as he tried to run away, and then drove away. The vehicle was found at Cady's residence.
He was jailed without bail and his preliminary hearing set for May 30.
