MANSFIELD - Cassandra R. Spencer, 24, of 1897 Buckwheat Hollow Road, Lawrenceville, was charged by state police with simple assault and harassment after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend.
Spencer and Brian D. Elwood, of 283 Bellows Road, Knoxville, arrived at the Jerreod B. Spencer residence, 858 Gor-Wood Road, Rutland Township, on May 20 with Spencer's 6-year-old daughter and dog, according to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office. After the two drank alcohol, they argued and she allegedly stabbed Elwood with a folding knife with a 4-inch blade. Elwood was wounded in the left hand between the first and second knuckles and suffered a cut to his left middle finger and his left inner bicep, records stated.
According to police, Cassandra Spencer had a knife in each hand. One knife belonged to Elwood and the other was hers, police said.
Jerreod Spencer came out of the residence and took the knives from her and she left on foot, police said.
Elwood did not require medical attention, police said.
Cassandra R. Spencer was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail and her preliminary hearing is set for May 30.
