MANSFIELD - Kayla D. Allgeier, 19, of Erie, and Keri L. Sparling, 19, of 1295 Watkins Hill Road, Columbia Crossroads, were charged recently after they allegedly stole several street signs to hang in their dorm room at Mansfield University.
University police charged the pair with receiving stolen property after they found two signs in Sparling's Jeep Liberty, which was parked at the university on March 27, according to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office. Police said they found two more signs in the girls' dorm room at Maple Hall as well as a pair of traffic cones.
The signs - two from Ward Township for Old Possessions Road and Black Bear Road and two from Columbia Township's Columbia and Iron Mine roads - were returned to the townships.
Both girls were issued a summons to appear at a June 6 preliminary hearing.
