Charles A. Morrison Jr., 74, of 1662 Crescent Hill Road, Cogan Station, went to meet his Savior on Sunday, May 20, 2012, after a brief stay at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born June 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert and Martha Louise (Brown) Shaffer.
He was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School and retired from Textron Lycoming in 1997 after 30 years. Charles was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Quiggleville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching bears, spending time with his grandchildren and was quite a story teller. In recent months, he was a contributing writer for the Central Pa Post.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Charlotte (Dorn) Morrison; three children, Charles A. Morrison III (Ann), Robert W. Morrison (Chris), both of Cogan Station and Deborah M. Kilheeney (Jay) of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Brandi Caputo, Jessica Getchen and Maria Morrison; eight great-grandchildren, Branejah, Av'Real, A'dryn, Kaylin, Ashton, Haydyn, Jesalin and Veyda; three siblings, Barbara Feigles of Ralston, Ruth Remick of Williamsport and Doris Mohn of Chambersburg. He is also survived by his beloved dogs.
Charles was proceeded in death by three siblings, Robert Shaffer, Margaret Entz and Drenna McKnight.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 1877 St. Michael's Road, Cogan Station. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701 or The Gatehouse, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
The family extends their thanks to the entire staff at The Gatehouse for their help and support through Charles's transition.
