Sarah E. Chapman, 88, formerly of Williamsport, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the home of her daughter Sandy, with whom she resided, surrounded by her loving family.
Sarah was born June 22, 1923, in Cascade, Pa., the daughter of John Henry and the former Catherine Martin. She was retired from Wundies in Williamsport after many years of service.
Surviving are three daughters, Sandy A. Walters of Jersey Shore, Debra R. Deljanovan of Williamsport and Edna M. Lucas of Linden; three sons, Steve A. Chapman of Canton, Thomas L. Chapman of Columbia Crossroads and Jack A. Chapman of Williamsport; 25 grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Wettlauffer of Dushore.
Sarah was preceded in death by three sons, Ralph Chapman Jr., James Chapman and John Chapman; and a daughter, Barbara Chapman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Barbours Cemetery. Rev. Sam Aston will officiate.
