A 32-year-old Woodward Township man faces charges for allegedly stealing another man's wallet and his backpack that contained $10 worth of beer, city police said.
Troy A. Werkheiser, of 64 Jane St., allegedly punched Clarence Cross in the face inside Cross' apartment at 326 Bridge St. and then fled with Cross' wallet and backpack about 11:30 p.m. on May 7, police said.
Werkheiser didn't get very far. He was nabbed in an apartment down the hall, police said.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on charges of robbery, simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property and harassment, Werkheiser was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
