Trees topple as heavy downpour sweeps area

JERSEY SHORE - A heavy downpour that swept through the region on Sunday night knocked down several trees, including one that toppled onto a car at the Susquehanna Campground on Susquehanna Drive in Piatt Township.

An occupant in the vehicle was hurt and was taken to a hospital about 6:20 p.m. The person's identity and the extent of his or her injuries were not known.

A tree reportedly fell in the 100 block of Staver Street as well as the 900 block of Pine Run Road in Woodward Township.

There was an unconfirmed report that a part of Martins Road in Piatt Township was washed out by heavy rains.
