Fish commission, state park hold kayak program

HOWARD - Bald Eagle State Park and the state Fish and Boat Commission will hold a Family Paddling program from 3 to 6 p.m. June 9.

Families will learn te basics of kayaking through on-land instruction, followed by an interpretive paddling tour across Foster Sayers Lake.

Instructors will share information about water safety, equipment needed and basic paddling techniques, as well as specific features of the park.

The program designed for participants ages 12 and older.

Space is limited and registration is required by 4 p.m. June 5. To register, call the park office at 814-625-2775.

Kayaks and all other necessary equipment will be provided by the commission and the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. If you have your own kayak and would like to bring it, inform park staff when you register.
