Desmond Lee Tanner, 29, of Williamsport, died on Monday, May 28, 2012, at The Gatehouse.
Desmond was born on May 8, 1983, in Williamsport, and was the son of the late Russell B. Tanner Jr. and Arrianna O. (Barbee) Tanner of Williamsport. He was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School, class of 2002, and had attended Penn Tech. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and enjoyed sports, especially basketball and enjoyed music.
In addition to his mother, Arrianna, he is survived by maternal grandmother, Alice J. Barbee of Williamsport; one uncle, Alphonso L. Barbee of Colorado; two aunts, Latasha K. Barbee of Williamsport and Alicia C. Dalton of Harrisburg; and numerous cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, John A. Barbee; and paternal grandparents, Richard and Ruth Tanner.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport, with the memorial service starting at 11 a.m. Janice Sapp will officiate the service. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
