Thousands of young men and women are graduating from our region's high schools these days a passage of achievement that is too often taken for granted these days.
A college education has become so important to entering into so many job fields that there is a tendency to forget how the foundation is laid a high school education filled with learning, achievement and maturation.
So this is a time to honor the education that is culminating in a cap and a gown and a speech and a diploma.
Don't take this achievement for granted and don't let it be an end, but rather a producer of momentum toward a job now or further education toward a productive contribution to society later.
And know that the kids today need the fawning this week to gird them for the future that lies ahead of them a future that is as tough if not tougher than that of the generations before them.
Cheer, clap, cry, laugh but, for sure, enjoy this moment, parents, children, friends and family.
