Shame on you

June 10, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

I am speaking to you Mr. Latranyi and your letter shaming liberals. You have written a politically bias letter with very little if any foundation.

President Obama spoke on Memorial Day to veterans and the families of those who fought during the Vietnam War. It is very obvious you only used the edited Fox News version when speaking to the 'national shame' in the president's speech. National shame means exactly what it says national not liberal. Patriots in our country can either agree or disagree about going to war. The shame arouse when we neglected those who fought in it and that fault lies with government and politics and it falls to all sides not just one.

We as a nation at that time forgot that our troops fight wars they do not make wars. That time in our history is a constant reminder not to do that again.

It is not just for liberals but for every citizen in this country and for our government officials. If you as a government official are going to send your citizens into war then you are going to honor them no matter what the nation as a whole feels about being in a war at that time.

The term 'teabagger' was used first by the members of the original formation of the Tea Party it was not until another meaning was brought to light that the term of pride became derogatory. They had embrace it then ran screaming from it.

Of course the liberals get the blame not the ignorance of a term used with sexual connotations. Conservatives and members of the Tea party have no problem using derogatory terms when speaking about liberals.

Teamster President James Hoffa said the following in that speech you cited as violent. "Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!"

Mr. Hoffa was saying vote republicans/Tea party out of office only a conservative would equate 'take them out' in the speech to mean with violence. Again your source was an edited version aired on Fox News.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' tragic shooting was froth with rhetoric. The unfortunate use of analogy of targets and guns played heavily against Giffords during her campaigning. Conservatives see nothing wrong with it, liberals found it unconscionable.

Interesting comment about the gas industry and the vandalism perpetuated at them is caused only by liberals. I personally know several conservatives who are not in favor of what the gas industry is doing in our area. People who have voiced opposition to the gas industry have not voiced their political loyalties.

Your perception is politically motivated here as is your job security since you are employed by them.

Some will say your letter Mr. Latranyi was filled with hate for liberals. Some would say that conservatives like yourself have no problem using hate and violence against liberal causes to get your way.

I say you are greatly misinformed and politically and ideologically motivated.
