Brown Library to hold grant writing roundtable

June 10, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

The James V. Brown Library, a cooperating collection of the Foundation Center, will host a roundtable to help nonprofit organizations learn more about grant writing and what makes a successful grant proposal.

Foundation Center reference librarian Daniel Owens will present Proposal Writing Basics from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the library. The class covers the elements of a grant proposal and offers valuable information about how to structure it for maximum success.

At noon, nonprofits are invited to attend a Meet the Funders Round Table. Representatives from the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, the Harry Plankenhorn Foundation and the Lycoming United Way will be on hand to offer first-hand experience and advice from the point of view of those who fund grant proposals.

Both programs are free and open to the public. They will be held in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Wing.

Registration may be made at www.jvbrown.edu or by calling Sue Rider 326-0536. A light lunch will be available for roundtable attendees for a fee.
