Mr. and Mrs. David Ira Kagan, Jersey Shore, observed their 40th wedding anniversary June 3, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Norman Hoffeld in Jersey Shore. Mrs. Kagan is a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore.
Mrs. Kagan, the former Beth Ann Camerer, is a native of Jersey Shore. She is the daughter of Norma and William Robert Jr. Camerer, Jersey Shore. She graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1968 and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in music from Elizabethtown College in 1972. She retired in 2011 from Jersey Shore Area School District as an elementary teacher.

Mr. Kagan, a native of Middletown, is the son of the late Edith and Oshea Kagan. He graduated from Middletown Area High School in 1966 and received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Elizabethtown College in 1970 and a master's degree in English from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis., in 1975. He retired in 2004 from Lock Haven University and Pennsylvania College of Technology as an English and math teacher. He is self-employed as a freelance writer.
They are the parents of three daughters, Rebecca Ann, Ashland, Ore.; Rachel Muriel Galey, West Chester; and Sarah Elizabeth, San Antonio, Texas.
The couple's first granddaughter is expected this summer.
In honor of their anniversary, a small family celebration was held June 3 at their daughter Rachel's home in West Chester.
