New local Red Cross chief introduced

June 9, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Tom Szulanczyk has been named the new executive director of the Northcentral Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Szulanczyk will do double-duty as the head of both the local chapter and the Union County chapter based in Lewisburg.

He took over the post on June 1 as part of an organization-wide restructuring.

Former chapter executive director Kathy Stine will stay with the chapter as disaster response specialist.

According to Stine, the change is a good fit for both Szulanczyk and her.

Stine said she is confident Szulanczyk is the right person to lead the chapter.

"Tom is going to be a wonderful person for that position," she said, adding that she looks forward to being more involved in the chapter's disaster response work.
