Adam A. "Tommy" Scampone, 65, of 722 Kimble Hill Road, Williamsport, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Williamsport, the son of Joseph E. and Josephine Formica Scampone.
Adam was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Williamsport and retired from Kelloggs in Muncy where he worked as an electrician, and had also worked at the former Bethleem Steel in Williamsport. He was a 1965 graduate of Williamsport High School and attended the former W.A.C.C and Lock Haven University. He was an Air Force veteran serving in the Vietnam War and was a 4th degree Black Belt in Goshin Jitsu. He loved karate, was an avid guitar and piano player, and was a private flying pilot.
Adam is survived by his wife, the former M. Jane Schrimp, with whom he celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on May 31. He is also survived by his sons, Camden J. of Lewisburg and Michael C. of Muncy; his daughters, Colleen A. Scampone of South Williamsport, and Tamara J. Boyles of Memphis, Tenn.; his brother-like cousin, Dr. Albert (Janet) Rizzo of Hockessin, Del.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

SCAMPONE
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, with Monsignor Stephen D. McGough as celebrant. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
