Martha D. Wise, 101, of Montoursville, died on June 9, 2012, at Manor Care Health Services South.
She was born Nov. 19, 1910, in Lewisburg, the daughter of Jacob and Mabel Dennis Meckley.
Martha retired in 1973 as an accountant for Sears & Roebuck Co. after 27 years of service. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, a member of Baldwin 11 Commandery K.T. Auxiliary, a past Matron of the Montoursville Chapter No. 465 Order of Eastern Star, a past District Deputy of District 10B, a past president of Royal P. Steinbacher Auxiliary, a Chapeau Passe at 40 et 8, a past president of Circle 177 G.A.R., a member of the Sears Retiree Club, a member of Lycoming Court 125 Order of the Amaranth, and a member of Micah Shrine No. 28.
She was preceded by her husband, Joseph F. Wise, who died in June 2005; a son, Dale; two brothers, Norman and Neil Meckley; and a sister, Naomi Sump.
Surviving are three sons, Frederick H. (Sharon) Wise of Williamsport, Joseph Dennis (Joanne) Wise of Williamsport and James A. (Judy) Wise of Sunbury; a brother, A. Lloyd Meckley of Williamsport; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. David B. Letscher officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
