City man faces theft charges

Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A 49-year-old city man faces a theft by deception charge following an incident at Kmart, 1915 E. Third St., on Feb. 25, state police said.

Jeffrey Allan Krugle, of 673 Campbell St., took a $52 pair of work boots off the shelf, went to the customer service desk and was given credit for shoes he never purchased, police said.

Store personnel gave him a gift card, which he used to buy a telephone and some soda, police said. He was then stopped and the merchandise recovered, police said. Following his arraignment Monday before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman, Krugle was released on $2,500 bail.
