Man accused of raping minor

JERSEY SHORE - William Edward Hohman, 47, was arrested Tuesday on charges of allegedly raping a teenage girl he lured into his Smith Street home by asking her to stay with his dog as he carried groceries into the house, according to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional police.

Once the girl came in the house, Hohman locked the doors and raped her, investigators alleged. The assault inside 305 Smith St. occurred in late May, police were told.

Hohman was arraigned before District Judge James H. Sortman on felony charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, false imprisonment, corrupting the morals of minor and one misdemeanor count of indecent assault.

He was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $125,000 bail.
