A recent Mallard Fillmore cartoon is a perfect example of how Americans who call themselves "conservative" are destroying our country. The cartoon shows a goofy-looking commencement speaker telling high school graduates that some of them can aspire to jobs at a McDonald's drive thru while others will go on to college and then get a job at a McDonald's drive thru. It's no wonder that conservatives are destroying America. They believe that education is valueless.
It's no wonder that America scores no better than mediocre on all international standards.
People who call themselves conservative spend all their educational efforts trying to force schools to teach superstition and magic rather than math and science.
People who call themselves conservative denigrate teachers at every opportunity which drives good teachers from the system and causes conservatives' foul offspring to hold teachers in contempt as well, which causes disruptions in class, causes students to not do homework, causes schools to fail. People who call themselves conservative spend time removing books they have never read from school libraries rather than encouraging their illiterate offspring to learn to read.
Brian Williams, the anchor of NBC News, recently night told a group of elementary students that he didn't know math. How is that not a shameful, embarrassing statement for an adult to make? Would he make light of the fact that he couldn't read? America is wallowing in ignorance and superstition made worse by people who wave the American flag, then prove the falsity of their patriotism by working to destroy the American education system.
This is not the fault of the education system. Public education in America is the finest in the world. The fault lies with conservatives who think they know better than the professionals who are fighting to educate American children.
People who call themselves conservative need to stop trying to destroy the country. The only way America can survive is if we all work together in a positive direction. Education is the key.
