It is with such pleasure that I was chosen to receive this year's Manufacturer & Business Association Scholarship Award. It is especially meaningful because it recognizes not only my high school successes but also it represents my future. As I begin college this fall at Pennsylvania College of Technology, I will be enrolled as a welding engineer major.
As I think back over the past 13 years, I can immediately recall the many teachers, principals and scout leaders that have made a lasting impression on me. These individuals have had a big impact on my education and the person that I have become today. I am an Eagle Scout, an honor roll student and a graduate from the Williamsport Area high school Class of 2012.
Providing this scholarship is a sign of the ways in which you, as business leaders, continue to care for others. I thank you on behalf of my family and most of all today, I offer my personal thanks for this scholarship. I am sincerely grateful!
