Area quilt guild to meet
WELLSBORO - The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Gmeiner Arts and Cultural Center, 134 Main St.
After a business meeting and show and tell of members' recent quilt projects, guild member Sylvia Smith will present a program on "Inking Labels."
Smith is an experienced fiber arts teacher who has conducted many classes in local venues. She will show members how to design and ink unique labels for their quilts. Several kits with inking supplies will be door prizes for those in attendance.

Library to hold summer program
LOCK HAVEN - To open the "Summer Evenings At Your Library" series, the Ross Library will hold an "Introduction to Astrology" program at 6:45 p.m. Monday at 232 W. Main St.
Sue Morris, local astrologer, will run the program. Morris has had a lifelong interest in the study of astrology. She studied with England's most renowned astrologers at the Company of Astrologers in London from 1985 to 1990. The workshop will cover the simple building blocks of astrology, the planets, signs and houses, and how they influence our character and shape our needs.
