Ruth H. Spurr, 94, of Williamsport, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Roseview Center, where she had been a resident the past 12 years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Claudius Messner, in 1944, and her second husband, Charles E. Spurr, May 4, 2010.
Ruth was a former member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed needle work and making holiday decorations.
Ruth worked at Wundies as a seamstress for several years and retired in 1980.
Born Feb. 22, 1918, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Raymond and Helen Yoder Bailey.
Surviving are a son, Donald Messner of Cogan Station; daughter, Marian E. Van Sant of Avoca; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ruth, and her husband Charles, will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Knight-Confer, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Pastor James Berhens officiating. There will be a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
