Fair and Open House
By TAYLOR, Grade 5
Our school had an open house and fair on Sunday, Aril 29, 2012.
There were a lot of people who were there. The people that came first looked at our work and then we had some presentations and played "Are You Smarter Than an Eighth-Grader?" instead of "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth-Grader."
For the last thing, we did an egg drop. There were about 11 people whose eggs didn't crack and about five people whose eggs did crack.
I think everybody had a good time!
Sermon in Shoes
By CHANLER, Grade 7
In February, April, and also in May our school did a sermon at several churches about shoes. First we went to the Milton Seventh-day Adventist church and had the sermon there. We all had fun. Some of the little kids were shy but we still got through it.
We talked about many different types of shoes from flippers to your regular sneaker. We told the people stories about many people who had collections of shoes, the biggest shoe ever made; anything that involved shoes. By the way, a person spent $1,000,000 on a pair of shoes. All of the students in my class had a speech on one of these people.
We had to memorize our shoe parts because it would've looked more presentable. We also did this at our own church in South Williamsport and also had fun doing that. Last, we presented this same program in Lock Haven.
As our program said, there are many types of shoes and there are many types of people. So I ask you, what type of person are you?
