Zachary M. Baier
Zachary M. Baier, a 2007 graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School, and the son of Ken and Lori Baier, graduated from the Penn State University on May 5 with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture.
While pursuing his degree, Baier participated in a range of studio projects including designing a campus environmental center, identifying lands to protect for a local conservancy, and creating designs for new towns and urban revitalization.
During his fourth year, he spent one semester studying abroad in Rome, Italy. This year his major studio projects included a multidisciplinary course focused on master planning for urban development on Toronto's waterfront, and an economic development studio for mixed-use redevelopment at the former Philadelphia Naval Yard.
Baier is pursuing a job in landscape architecture.

Chad Hunter, son of John and Kathi Hunter of Horseheads, N.Y., formerly from Montoursville, graduated May 20 from the University of Rochester, Rochester, N.Y.
Hunter graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a minor in mathematics. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi chapters and also was awarded the Albert K. Ackoff Award for the highest GPA in his junior year.
He was the recipient of the American Chemical Society-Chemical Achievement Award and also the Robert L. Wells Prize, for the highest ranking senior engineering student for demonstrated competence in both engineering and humanities.
Hunter is working for General Motors in Honeoye Falls, N.Y., this summer as an intern and will be attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology to pursue a master's degree in chemical engineering.
He is the grandson of the Mrs. Allan S. Hunter, of Montoursville, and Joseph and Donna Stetts, of Loyalsock Township.
