Garden club to hold program on Monday
The Loyalsock Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church.
Conducted by President Ann Kuntz, the program will feature drying flowers and using a flower press.
Hostesses are Barbara Barnes and Millie Brennan, co-chairwomen. Committee members are Pat Chestnut and Carol Gundrum. There will be no meeting in July and the annual club picnic will be in August.
DuBoistown Garden Club met, took tour
On June 10, the DuBoistown Garden Club participated in the Ways Garden and Art Show by displaying colorful flowers in pots.
On Thursday, a business meeting was held at Ettinger's Garden Center. Hosted by President Rita Bower, the meeting featured a tour of the center by Mindy Lamade. Hostess chairwomen for the event were Rebecca Stark and MaryLou Missigman and their committee included Diane Andrus, Tula Avlonitis, Carol Bonner, Ann Lamade, Deborah Robbins, Bernadette Servly and Ida Mae Young.
Museum announces summer programs
LEWISBURG - The Packwood House Museum has announced its Summer Programs for Kids series. Each program, with the exception of Aug. 7, begins at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the museum's Tour Center, 15 N. Water St.
All programs are free, but space is limited so reservations can be made by calling the museum at 524-0323.
Programs include Tuesday, Kids and Krafts and Snacks, Oh My!; June 26, Songs and Stories of Old Canal Days; July 10, Edith's Pet Rooster Alfie: A Fun Fusible Applique Class; July 17, 19th Century Magic Show; July 24, Folktales; July 31, Potholder Making for Kids; and Aug. 21, Getting Into Shapes.

Senior workshop set for caregivers
LEWISBURG - There will be a free Alzheimer's workshop for family caregivers from 6 to 8 p.m. June 19, 26; July 19, 26 and Aug. 15 and 22 at Home Instead Senior Care, 130 Buffalo Road.
Members of the community are invited to participate in a new training program for families struggling with Alzheimer's disease.

Area library plans program
CANTON - Jeff Singer, director of the Bradford County Library, will present a program at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Green Free Library, 38 N. Center St.
The program will be about his father's family and the book written about his father.
During World War II, Singer's father had to leave Austria and go to China.
He eventually ended up in Canada and then America. Singer will talk about his father's struggles. He also will talk about the book, "The Gentle Butcher," by Sidney Kurty, Singer's father's story.
Salladasburg seniors to meet
SALLADASBURG - The Salladasburg Chapter of Lycoming County Senior Citizens will hold a tureen dinner at noon Thursday at the residence of Joan Lehman, followed by the monthly meeting.
Members are asked to bring a casserole or dessert to share, along with their own place setting.
Also during the meeting, money will be collected for the catered picnic that will be held at Susquehanna State Park.
