HUNTINGDON - Lincoln Caverns will hold its eighth annual Discovery Days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and next Sunday.
Visitors can enjoy historic tours, workshops, children's activities and fun for the whole family.
The one-hour historical tours leave from the visitors' center about every 20 minutes, rain or shine.
Workshops will be held on speleology, the study of caves; cave habitat and animals; karst topography; fossils; and bats.
First discovered in May 1930 by workers building U.S. Route 22, the caverns opened to the public on June 25, 1931, and the Dunlavy family assumed management in 1932.
Portraying the roles of those significant in the discovery and history of the caverns, interpreters will offer a special historical tour of both Lincoln Caverns and Whisper Rocks.
No reservations are necessary.
