Watson N. Antes, 92, a lifelong resident of Liberty, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, in Valley View Nursing Home, Montoursville.
Born Jan. 13, 1920, on the family farm in Liberty, he was the son of the late Irvin L. and Ocy M. (Temple) Antes.
He was a graduate of Liberty High School. Watson then attended Coyne Electrical School, Chicago, Ill., where he received electrician training and certification in 1938.
A farmer his entire life on the family farm in Liberty, he worked as an electrician until the mid 1940s. Watson drove a school bus for Liberty schools from 1948 to 1958. He also was a dairy farmer until 1980 besides raising registered Black Angus Cattle since 1951 until November 2011.
Surviving are a sister, Doris (William) of Carlisle; two brothers, Clifton (Joan) of Mansfield and Howard (Helen) of Gillett; a sister-in-law, Doris Antes of Elmira, N.Y.; as well as 20 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Louis, Russell, John and a sister, Mary Bussler.
A private family service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Friedens Lutheran Church, Liberty. A burial will follow in Friedens Cemetery.
