Russell E. Lawrence, 86, of Williamsport, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at ManorCare South.
Born April 13, 1926, in Newark, N.J., he was a son of the late William and Sarah McGreevey Lawrence.
Russell was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1987 as a courier from Purolator Courier Co. after many years of employment.

Russell was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. He enjoyed bingo, computer games and music.
Surviving is his wife of 27 years, the former Doris M. Dodson; five children, Joanne M. (Gary) Gross of Trout Run, Thomas (Janet) Yoder of Geneseo, Ill., Darlene (Jim) Shuta of Trout Run, Shirley (Bob) Kase of Trout Run, Barbara (Carl) Betts of Trout Run; a brother, Paul of N.J.; and a sister, Gladys Leslie; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in Montoursville Cemetery.
