TOWANDA - Seniors who are age 60 and older may once again be eligible to receive vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables at WIC-approved farm markets.
In order to be eligible for these vouchers, an individual must: be a resident of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna or Tioga County; be age 60 or older by Dec. 31; and meet annual income guidelines.
The income limit for a single person is $20,665 and the income limit for a couple is $27,991. Proof of age such as a driver's license, birth certificate or photo ID; and proof of residency are required at the time of voucher pickup.
Individuals picking up food vouchers for relatives or friends must present a completed and signed proxy form along with proof of age and residency of the recipient.
Proxy forms can be obtained by calling the Area Agency on Aging at 800-982-4346.
Vouchers will be available at the following locations on the dates specified for each location:
Bradford County
Area Agency on Aging Office, 220 Main St., Towanda - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Wyalusing Senior Center, 62 Riverside Drive - 9 a.m. to noon June 22.
Sayre Senior Center, 208 Desmond St. - 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 27.
Warren Center Senior Center, School House Road - 9 a.m. to noon June 28.
Canton Senior Center, 6 E. Tioga St., Canton Community Center - 9:30 a.m. to noon June 20.
Gillett Senior Center, Gillett Community Center - 9 a.m. to noon June 21.
Sullivan County
Human Services Department, Sullivan County Courthouse, 245 Muncy St., Laporte - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
