Beverly J. Snyder, 77, a resident of Montgomery, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at her residence. Born in Montgomery, Lycoming County, Pa., on Friday, Jan. 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Geraldine (Speck) Golder.
Bev was the wife of James G. Snyder with whom she celebrated a 51st wedding anniversary on Oct. 14, 2011.
She was a 1953 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. Beverly was employed as a matron by the Lycoming County Prison, retiring in 2012 after 22 years of service. She had previously been employed by the former Pyshers Furniture, Van Holts, Myco Manufacturing, Carey McFalls, Frito Lay and then the Masonite Corp at Watsontown.
Bev enjoyed bowling and flower gardening and had served as a Girl Scout leader. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, James G. and Karen Snyder Jr., Montgomery, Pa., and Lisa M. Snyder, Montgomery, Pa.; and by two grandchildren, Megan M. Snyder and James T. Snyder.
A memorial service will be conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, Pa., at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012. Friends may call on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The family respectfully requests no flowers.
