New Cub Scout Night with the Crosscutters
All boys going into first grade through fifth grade in the fall of 2012 are invited to join Scouting at a Special "New Scout Night" with the Williamsport Crosscutters.
This event will take place on Saturday at historic Bowman Field. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
Registration for new Cub Scouts will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Boy Scouts of America registration table set up on the entrance way to Bowman Field.
Boys who join Scouting that night will receive a special packet of baseball cards, an opportunity to participate in the Crosscutters' Field of Dreams event where the new Scouts will get to take the field with the Crosscutters prior to the game, a fireworks show following the game and a trial membership in the Boy Scouts of America Cub Scout Program through December to experience the thrill and fun of Scouting.
New Cub Scouts will receive a commemorative Boy Scouts of America 100th Anniversary Collectors Patch

Credit union to hold SPCA membership drive
Service First Credit Union will hold a membership drive for the Lycoming County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Amimals from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, at their offices located behind Sheetz along Westminster Drive.
"Now is the time to become a member of the Lycoming County SPCA or to renew your membership. Why? Because Service First Federal Credit Union has graciously donated a Kindle Fire that any Service First member joining or renewing their SPCA membership will be eligible to win," said John Hettinger, SPCA director of development.
Members may come to the Loyalsock Township branch of Service First Federal Credit Union and join or renew a membership to the Lycoming County SPCA (regular membership level and above) and will be automatically registered to win the Kindle Fire.
Members also may join or renew their SPCA membership through the mail.
However, they must be present at the June 28 event to be eligible to win a Kindle.
Service First also will have food and activities throughout the day, and the SPCA will be on hand as well.
Members are encouraged to bring their own pets with them that day.
