2 hurt in Corvette crash

June 24, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette
It took Montoursville and Loyalsock Township volunteer firefighters 30 minutes to free the passenger riding in this 1997 Chevy Corvette after it crashed into a cluster of trees along the Loyalsock Avenue on-ramp to westbound lanes of Interstate 180 in Montoursville about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Borough police said excessive speed likely contributed to the car’s adult male driver losing control of the vehicle, which traveled at least 100 feet off the ramp. The passenger, also an adult male, was loaded into Geisinger Medical Center’s Life Flight helicopter, which landed right on the on-ramp. It then flew the victim to the medical center in Danville. His identity and that of the driver, who was taken by ambulance to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, were not available Saturday night.
