The state Fish and Boat Commission will hold Family Fishing Days at three area venues, rain or shine:
From 1 to 5 p.m. July 3 at Hammond Lake, Tioga;
From noon to 4 p.m. July 7 at Lyman Run State Park, Galeton; and
From noon to 4 p.m. July 14 at Kettle Creek State Park, Renovo.
No license, equipment or bait is needed for the four-hour program, which introduces families to fishing basics.
Topics will include fishing gear, knots, casting and preparing to fish. After instruction, families can put their newfound skills to use on the lakes.
Adults must be accompanied by a child and vice versa.
Space is limited and registration is required by calling Dina Henniger at 835-0113 for the July 3 event or Allan Schreffler at 814-359-5127 for the July 7 and 14 events.
